Dulcius Ex Asperis

There were 3 men named Paul Ferguson in Butler County in the 1820's and one more who arrived sometime later. Two were related and they were Paul (born 1742) and his grandson (born 1799). The other two were Paul Ferguson, a single immigrant from Ireland (born 1796) and your Paul (born about 1808). Let me know if you acquire further info. This puzzle has eluded many of us!

It seems likely that Mahala's Paul is an unknown grandson or great nephew of Paul Sr. DNA testing should be able to establish if Mahala's Paul is at least related to Paul Sr. If John Eenis Ferguson b. Nov 1833 is Mahala's son then the yDNA Haplogroup of her husband is R-U152. One then needs a test of a male named Ferguson descended from any of Paul Sr. 's sons to see if he too is R-U152.
