Ancestors of John Ferguson

The table following shows three different pedigrees ascribed to John Ferguson. All three pedigrees agree that John had a son William born about 1791 in Kershaw (Lancaster), SC. The DNA signatures of pedigrees 1 and 2 are known. A test of a living male named Ferguson known to descend from William Ferguson is necessary. If the DNA of that individual matches pedigree No. 1 then pedigree No. 2 can be ruled out and vice versa.
