Fergus(s)on DNA Project

Ancestors of Robert James Ferguson (Sally A. Ferguson)

In Ireland the family was always Fergus. My husband's older brother changed the name to Ferguson when he came to USA. (Patrick) John Fergus then changed his name also to Ferguson. Now there was another brother named Thomas Fergus. I just don't know what he did. There were about 12 children in the Fergus family. Many daughters. I think all but the one brother came out to USA. Brother Willie Fergus remained at home on the family farm. 13 acres outside of Louisburgh, on the road to Westport. It is called Cuilleen.

Our oldest ancestor is Patrick Fergus b 1812. His son was Owen Fergus and his son was John Fergus and his son was Robert J. Ferguson,. John Fergus was born in 1882. When the family came over here they settled in the Boston area. MA. and PA areas.
