The genealogy of Green FERGUSON is of interest in that he had a
son name Turner born 1849, Chester Co., SC . Further, Green's father Henry also
had a son Turner born 1816, Chester Co., SC. Henry's father Adams FERGUSON had
a sister named Mourning FERGUSON, our subject Turner named one of his daughters
Mourning FERGUSON. Adams FERGUSON also had a son named Stephen who could be the
same Stephen as in the slave schedule.
Regarding Jas H. FERGUSON, there
is a James born in 1834 to Jonathan FERGUSON and Sarah HYATT of Chester Co.,
SC. There is a Wm. FERGUSON born 1794 and buried 1874 in the Old Hopewell
Baptist Cemetery, Bascomville, Chester Co., SC .
Green, James and Wm.
FERGUSON are all descendants of John
FERGUSON and Ann STUBBLESON. Its hard to say anything about B.S. FERGUSON.
For this reason and others its premature to say that the slave Turner was once
owned by a descendant of John FERGUSON and Ann STUBBLESON but its a good
working hypothesis.
