The Fergus(s)on here meet the definition of South Irish used in the R-L21 South Irish Project. The SNP CTS4466 has been found to define this clade and other SNP are the subject of continuing research. Members of this clade are encouraged to join the R1b-CTS4466 Plus haplogroup project.

SNP Tests

Results for Kit 88088 of the Full Genomes Corporation Y Elite test and Kit 257329, a BigY test, are shown in the Big Tree. The Ferguson are R-FGC29289 a subclade under R-FGC29280. It is recommended that any other Ferguson in FGC29289 who wish to singly SNP test do the following: FGC29289, FGC29285, FGC29287, FGC29292, FGC29293 and A12926. The potential exists to split the Ferguson into more branches.

Modal Haplotype Table

A modal haplotype is the set of markers corresponding to the most frequently observed values for each marker. The markers highlighted are said to be off modal and patterns in these markers distinguish one branch or family from another. This table compares the South Irish modal haplotype from the R1b-CTS4466 Plus haplogroup project to the Fergus(s)on modal haplotype in this project. Genetic Distance

Time to Most Recent Common Ancestor

The Time To Most Recent Ancestor (TMRCA) is a measure of relatedness and well defined in the case of a family tree wherein one simply counts the number of generations back to the most recent common ancestor shared with someone else in the tree. From differences in haplotypes between two men it is possible to make a rough estimate of the probability that the TMRCA falls between two numbers. The numbers reported in the table below are such that the TMRCA is expected to fall within the range shown with a probability of 90%.
