FFARGESSON1 based on the database of the Clan Fergusson of North
America (CFSNA) shows the following:

Unknown; m. 2nd Annie HENDERSON
The references cited are member submissions, some with imbedded
references, and a file called CFSNA/PAF dated 10/6/98 believed constructed by
the CFSNA genealogist at that time, Shirley Doran. The
Mary
Ferguson Fiser File includes a William FERGUSON born about 1736 in Essex
Co., VA who died in SC, however no wife or children are shown. Amongst public
trees parents cited include: unknown, James FERGUSON=Anne, James FERGUSON=Anne
MARKEHAM, and George FERGUSON=Emily WOOD. Many cite Find A Grave Memorial#
146859475 and others cite Public Trees such as found on ancestry.com or
WorldConnect.

The tree below is based on that by Shirley Doran2,
additional info and corrections shown in green by John T. Ferguson3,
and other corrections/additions in red as referenced below.
- I. Ancel Ferguson, b 8 Jan 1761. Went to Bahama Islands as a young
man where he had a plantation, experimented with Sea Island Cotton, and died
there. d. 1814, Cat Island [No wife is
mentioned, or why he went to the Bahamas - because of Tory sympathies?]
- II. Anna Ferguson4, b 7 Jan 1763, m (1) a Mr. Dixon, had
two children before Mr. Dixon died. m (2) Elija Thompson and had 7 children.
- III. William Ferguson4, b 26 Dec 1765. Married his
cousin's daughter [not named] and they had
6 or 7 8 children. Of these, only the names of two
sons and one daughter are known, viz:

Ferguson dated 22 Mar 1816, proved 11 Nov 1816, and recorded in Fairfield
District Will Book 7, Page 93 on 16 May 1817, leaves the property of Joseph to
his named brothers and sisters, John Ferguson, Agnes Ferguson, Anna Reves,
Keziah Ferguson, Wm H. Ferguson, J.H. Ferguson and Jancey M. Ferguson. Abraham
Ferguson is named executor.
IV. Joseph Ferguson, b 1767,
***"possibly married Emily or Sarah
Dubose, lived in Jackson, AL in 1800 per Ella Taylor.' Joseph's 22 Mar 1816
will recorded in Fairfield WB No. 7, page 93, is abstracted as follows: "I
Joseph Ferguson . . . leave my earthly property . . . to my Brothers and
Sisters Namely Keziah and Wm. H. and James H. and Jancey M. Ferguson . . .
excepting all my clothes I give to my brothers above mentioned & fifty
dollars to Anna Reves & fifty dollars to John Ferguson & fifty dollars
to Agnes Ferguson my sister, after this one hundred and fifty dollars is
divided between my Sister Ann Reves and John Ferguson my Brother and Agnes my
Sister then the rest or whole of my property Equel, devided amongst my above
named Brothers and Sisters Viz: Keziah & Wm. H. and J. H. and Jancey M.
Ferguson . . . I leave Abraham Ferguson my Executor . . . " Proved 11 Nov 1816,

- VII. James Ferguson , b 30 Sep 1772, "Married in SC went to TN, and
died there leaving 6 or 7 children.' [SF Doran suggests this is the James who
married Elizabeth Fleming. Believe she is correct for James names one of his
son Ancel, after an older brother, a very unusual given name. The date of birth
(1772) is much more reasonable than that used (1757) in the writer's book on
the descendants of James Ferguson as the first child of James and Elizabeth
Fleming Ferguson was probably born in 1793. See Descendants of James and

by Herman W. Ferguson.]
- VIII. Abraham Ferguson4, b 11 Jan 1775. "Died without
heirs except a B. (Anna who married a Mr. Hunter.)' The said Anna is
surely an illegitimate daughter who married George R. Hunter, the executor of
Abraham's Fairfield Co., SC will of 12 July 1824.
- IX. Isaac Ferguson, b 24 Jan 1778, m in SC Isabell Cason, migrated
to FL where he died leaving 3 children, viz:

- XI. Jacob Ferguson4, b 26 Mar 1782, m 16 Jan 1810
Elizabeth Dubose, daughter of James & Elizabeth (Hodge) Dubose, [see
brother nephew Joseph
above], at Millidgeville, GA. "Jacob and Elizabeth both buried at Greenville,
[Butler Co.] AL. [Joseph died 25 Nov 1852] They raised 15 children. The
courthouse at Milledgeville, GA burned down in 1861. Their marriage certificate
was returned to be recorded at the new courthouse. Jacob Ferguson record
continued elsewhere.' In the margin of the original document is the following:
"My family, E. G.' [Ed. Note: The notes continued elsewhere were written by
Eula Ferguson Taylor of 207 W. Olive St., Portersville, CA, were furnished to
the writer by Jean C. Agee in May 1994 and are added to the rest of the
handwritten material by Mrs. Taylor of Portersville. HWF 23 Jun 1995]

Elizabeth Armstrong in Butler Co., AL. "She [his wife?] buried at Coleman, TX.
He is buried at Wood Cem., Webberville [Texas? They had a family of 12

Methodist society in Kershaw District, Jan. 11, 1807, and was married to Rev.
Robert Corley, 25 June 1815...Baptist church at Sardis, in Edgefield
District...In March, 1829, she was left a widow with four little children. She
saw these two boys buried in baptism.... The younger son, Robert, fell in
