Died at the residence of her son, in Ninety-Six, at half-past 2
o'clock, on the morning of the 7th Feb.,1863, Mrs. Agnes Corley in the 70th
year of her age. She was the daughter of Wm. Ferguson, deceased, and was born
in Fairfield District, on the 16th March, 1793, and became a member of the
Methodist society in Kershaw District, Jan. 11, 1807, and was married to Rev.
Robert Corley, 25 June 1815...Baptist church at Sardis, in Edgefield
District...In March, 1829, she was left a widow with four little children. She
saw these two boys buried in baptism.... The younger son, Robert, fell in
Mexico, on 20th August 1847...(long eulogy). [Confederate Baptist,

Mary Edwards
Several public trees name Mary daughter of Jarrott Edwards as the
mother of Gideon Ferguson. Indeed Mary appears to have married a John Ferguson
but her date and place of birth do not match the Mary 1850-1880 census records.
