Family Tree

On Ancestry.com there are about 500 Public Member Trees that match the following query: Name:"Robert" "Ferguson"; Birth:"1699-1703", "Scotland"; Death:"Dec 1794". Documentation in the first two or three generations is difficult to find and differences exist in trees. The tree used here could rightly be called a "consensus tree" drawn from those sources. It connects families in the context of pedigrees as submitted to the project and provides a basis for analysis. That analysis suggests the greyed out line does not fit as depicted.
There are participants in other haplogroups-clades who suspect a linkage to the Colonel. While it is clear they are not genetic cousins to the participants in I-M284 that is not to say they are definitely unrelated to the Colonel. It could be that everyone in the tree below shares a common ancestor but with someone other than the Colonel. An analysis cannot be done in those other haplogroups-clades because at present there are no intersecting pedigrees to work with.
Geraldine Littleton at Searcy County Library is working to document and advance the genealogy of the library's founder James G. Ferguson, a descendant of Andrew Ferguson 1724-1810 as highlighted in the tree below. Most of the participants linked to the tree DNA tested to assist her research. In time the tree below may change so as to conform to the findings of her research.

In the name of God Amen. I, Robert Ferguson of the state of North Carolina

body, and that it is appoint-ed unto all men once to die, I do make and
publish this my last Will and Testament, recommending my soul to God who
gave it and my body to the earth to be buried with decent burial at the
discretion of my executors hereafter named, and for such worldly estate as

house we now live in with the use of the barn, stable, and cleared land
during her life, all for her own comfortable support as for the support,
sustance and bringing up and schooling of my small children; but if she
marries again she is from thence forth to have only the use of one half of the lease land.
Secondly, I give and bequeath unto my son John one cow and a year old heifer.
Third, I give and bequeath unto my daughter Mary, married to James Falls,
one two year old heifer.
Forthly, I give and bequeath unto my son Robert, a horse called Britian

Sixthly, I give and bequeath unto my daughter Sarah a note on Malion Henry
