Died at Gracefield, Dumfriesshire, 18th Dec. 1866, ' having been a faithful and successful minister, in whom there was much of the scholar and the gentleman.' Married, first, 10 Oct. 1836, Agnes Lidgate, who died 30 Nov, 1853 ; second, 3rd April 1856, Elizabeth Black, who survived him.
