John Duncan FERGUSSON - Artist

Born in Leith near Edinburgh in 1874 he was the eldest of four children, with two sisters and a younger brother Robert. "His parents, John and Christina Ferguson, had moved from Pitnacree, near Pitlochry shortly before his birth" ... "Although Fergusson referred to his father as a Perthshire farmer, which was indeed true prior to the move to Edinburgh, he never mentioned his subsequent career. In fact, he had owned a spirit merchant's shop in Cockburn street"⁴. He d. 30th of January 1961 in Glasgow. He met Margaret MORRIS in 1913. She d. on 29 February 1980 in Glasgow.
