Was John Ferguson who was alleged to have stolen oxen from Sir John Forbes of Craigievar one and the same as John the immigrant, who with a James Ferguson was transported to Virginia? Who was the husband of Mrs Ferguson late Gordon of Hallhead?

Towards the end of the fourteenth century, this property was acquired by George GORDON, fourth son of Thomas GORDON, in Daach of Ruthven, whose descendants, in uninterrupted succession, have possessed it to the present time. The relict of the last proprietor, Major GORDON, now by a second marriage Mrs FERGUSON, is the present proprietrix.

In addition to the proprietors above-mentioned, the Honourable Walter, Master of Forbes, has a small part of his estate of Brux in the parish. The valued rents of the different properties are, Hallhead
